Mother Alberta Criswell was born March 24, 1917 to the late Ether Green Donald and the late Clifton Smith in Greenbrier, Arkansas.She departed her earthly home June 18, 2015 at 8:45 P.M. at Heritage Living Center in Conway, Arkansas surrounded by her family. Mother Criswell accepted Christ at an early age and united with Mt. Grove Baptist Church Greenbrier, Arkansas.She moved to Springfield, Arkansas where she met and married Mr. Pinkney Criswell, Jr.To this union, 12 children were born.Mother Criswell became a widow on October 8, 1967 and reared her children under the admonition of the Lord.She united with Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church and remained an active, dedicated and faithful member until her health began to fail. Mother Criswell was employed by ARVAC and with Union Chapel Child Developmental Center where she assisted in the educational development of numerous children for many years.Many later in life became productive adults.She was also known to be a seamstress of clothes and especially quilts, also a gardener, jelly maker, friend, grandmother and herb use/medical advisor. Mother Criswell was loved by everyone and would help anyone. She was preceded in death by three children, Ulysses, Bobby and Marolyn. Mother Criswell leaves to cherish her memories and carry on her legacy five sons; Scipio Hammonds of Little Rock, Arkansas, James Criswell (Mosetta) Springfield, AR, Arvin K. and Edward Dean (Sharon) Criswell of Los Angeles, California and Billy Joe Criswell of Conway, Arkansas, four daughters; Unice Porchay and Leesther Criswell of Morrilton, Arkansas, Gertherlean Coleman (Larry) of Detroit, Michigan and Carolyn Criswell of Conway, Arkansas, 38 grandchildren, 69 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren, numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Funeral service for Mrs. Criswell will be Saturday, June 27, 2015, 11:00 A.M. at Greater Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Plumerville, Arkansas by Rev. Brandon Williams.
