Mrs. Aretha Brown, 100 of Plumerville, Arkansas transitioned on Tuesday, March 15, 2022. Aretha wasborn August 21, 1921, to the late Willis Barnes andLillie Kemp Barnes, in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
She professed her faith in Christ at an early age and was baptized. She remained an active faithful church member and held several positions and offices in the church and community: Usher board member, Missionary worker, Sunday School and Baptist Training Union teacher, the Mothers Board, Deaconess Ministry, Order of the Eastern Star and National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).
She was united in Holy Matrimony to Theodore Brown, March 2, 1941. To thisunion seven children were born.She was soft spoken, kind, gentle and loved to help anyone who needed her assistance.She performed domestic work for several years, but her prized position was as an employee of Conway Memorial Hospital working in the housekeeping department.After retiring from Conway Memorial, she loved to travel and visit her children and grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memory six children, Theola(Wilbert) Brown-Thompson, George T. Brown, Narva Brown-Ross, Verlyn Kaye Brown, Timothy Ray Brown and Doris Anita Brown; Eight grandchildren;16 great grandchildren, six great great-grandchildren.
