Sis. Bertha LaFaye ColemanDelph was the 10th of 10 siblings born to the late Jeff and Daisy Falls Coleman on April 9, 1938 in Menifee, Arkansas. She departed this life on Friday, March 28, 2014 at St. Andrew's Place Nursing Home in Conway, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Delph and three sons; Cecil Delph, Jr., Stanley Delph and Amos Delph, one grandson, Christopher Delph, five brothers, Bennie, Elbert, Albert, Eugene and J. C. Coleman, four sisters; Cindella Johnson, Hazel Mae Phillips, Mary Lee Ward and Ruby Lee Randolph. She professed her faith in Christ at an early age and united with St. Mark Baptist Church in Menifee, Arkansas under the pastorate of Rev. Sylvester King, where she was a pianist for many years, and remained a faithful member until her illness. Sister Bertha Delph worked for many years at Levi Strauss, Meadowlake Nursing Home, Salem Nursing Home, Nickerson Farms and Tommy's Restaurant. She was a member of the Menifee Women Civic League. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Cecil Delph on May 16, 1954. To this union, 12 children were born. She leaves to cherish her memory five sons; Elder James (Elease) Delph of Conway, Arkansas, Ronald (Caprisha) Delph of Little Rock, Arkansas, Waymon (Durinda) of Kansas City, Missouri; Eric (Kelly) Delph and Stevenson (RuQunda) Delph both of Menifee, Arkansas, four daughters; Carla (Quincy) Tate and Polletta Johnson all of Conway, Arkansas, Tracy Trezvant of Menifee, Arkansas and Diana (Tony) Byers of Cleveland, Arkansas, one stepdaughter, Olivia Fuller of Conway, Arkansas, 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral service for Mrs. Delph will be Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church in Menifee by Rev. Tony Byers. Interment will be in Menifee Community Cemeter in Menifee.
