Betty Louise Shavers Godbold, age 62, was born October 23, 1948 in Menifee, Arkansas to the late John Henry Shavers and Izola Shavers. She departed this life on Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at home. Betty joined Philadelphia Baptist Church in Menifee, Arkansas at an early age under the pastorage of Rev. Graves. She later joined Better Life Ministries in Conway, Arkansas where Robert Henry Oliver Jr. is the pastor. Betty remained a faithful member until her death. She was united in holy matrimony to James Pirtle Sr. To this union, six children were born. She later married Aubrey Godbold. She was preceded in death by one son, James Pirtle Jr., one brother, Elijah Shavers and her sister Vera Carroll. She is survivied by her husband, Aubrey Godbold, North Carolina, her mother, Izola Shavers, Morrilton, AR, two sons; Joe Nathan Pirtle, Detriot, MI and Delon Pirtle of Malvern, AR; three daughters, Sheila Thomas, Plumerville, AR, Andrea (Frankie) Kelley of McCrory, AR and Lucrecia Pirtle, Morrilton, AR; five sisters; Johnnie (Robert) Oliver, Donna Shavers and Sarah (Tony) Foster all of Menifee, AR, Linda Shavers and Brenda (Larry) Steward both of Hot Springs, AR, three brothers; Larry Shavers and Maurice (Phyllis) Shavers both of Menifee, AR and Richard Shavers of Hot Springs, AR, thirteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Funeral service for Mrs. Godbold will be Saturday, November 20, 2010 at 10;00 A.M. at Better Life Ministries 1151 Markham St. Conway, AR by Pastor Robert H. Oliver, Jr. The body will lie in state at the church from 9:00 A.M to 10:00 A.M. the day of the funeral. Burial will be at Menifee Community Cemetery.
