Sister Catherine Barnes Cunningham was born December 21, 1943, daughter of the late Judge and Frances Barnes Campbell in Mt. Zion, AR. She departed this life on December 6, 2009 at St. Mary Regional Hospital, Russellville, AR.She professed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined the Greater Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She later became a faithful member of Pilgrim Rest No. 2 Baptist Church Atkins, AR under the late Dr. Howard Landrum and the current pastor, Rev. Paul S. Erby. She was church clerk and president of the Women's Local Mission Society until her health failed.She was a faithful servant working within the Middlewestern District Association. She served as: Secretary, MWD West Wing Church and Singing Union, Financial Secretary, MWD School of Ministry, Registar, MWD Congress of Christian Education, Secretary of mwd Missionary Baptist Woman's Association Auxiliary, a graduate of the MWD School of Ministry and Financial Registar for the Regular Arkansas Missionary Baptist State Convention, Inc. Woman's Auxiliary.She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Walter Cunningham, three sons, Tony Flood Cunningham of Atkins, AR, Kenneth (Belinda) Cunningham of Aberdeen, MD, Shawn Cunningham of Richmond, VA, two daughters, Shelia Cunningham Hodge of Richmond, VA and Shannon Cunningham of Conway, AR. There are nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.She is survived by her mother Mrs. Frances Campbell of Morrilton, AR, four sisters, Kay (Emmanuel) Nwachuke of North Little Rock,AR, Diane (Albert) Brown, Peggy (Jerry) Clemons of Morrilton, AR and Rebecca Barnes of North Little Rock, AR, three brothers, Johnny Campbell of Morrilton, AR, Harold Barnes of California and Leonard (Dora) Barnes of Sherwood, AR and her special Aunt Zeptha Taylor of Morrilton, AR. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.Funeral service Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Pilgrim Rest No. 2 Missionary Baptist Church, Atkins, AR, Rev. PaulS.
