Mr. Charles Edward Hunter passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2015 at Good Shepherd Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Little Rock, Arkansas at the age of 78.Charles is predeceased by his parents, Harrison and Eddie Mae Hunter, and his brother Dr. Ulysses (Ben) Hunter.He was raised by his beloved grandparents William (Bud) and Phyllis Thompson-Horton, who also precedes him in death. Charles was born in Blackwell, Arkansas on July 27, 1937.He graduated from Sullivan High School in Morrilton, Arkansas in 1954 and enlisted in the Air Force in 1954 until 1958 and became a medic.After leaving the Air Force in the 1958, he entered college at Arkansas Mechanical and Normal College (AM&N) in Pine Bluff, Arkansas majoring in Chemistry.He became restless after one year and rejoined the Air Force in 1958 until 1968. Charles enjoyed sports, especially baseball, as well as movies, reading and spending time with his family. Charles is survived by his loving son, Darrell Hunter of Portland, Oregon, eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one aunt, Cumire Embry of Morrilton, Arkansas, two nephews, Michael (Pamela) Hunter of Atlanta, Georgia and Will Fermat-Hunter of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral service for Mr. Hunter will be Saturday, October 17, 2015, 11:00 A.M. at Wilson & Jarrett Funeral Home Chapel in Morrilton, Arkansas by Rev. Michael Williams. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill #2 Cemetery in Kenwood, Arkansas. The body will lie in state in the chapel from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. the day of the funeral. Public viewing will be Friday, October 16, 2015 from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home chapel.
