Obituary

Claudia Mae GarrettEverette,of Morrilton, Arkansas , went to be with the Lord on April 22, 2014, in Little Rock, Arkansas, at the age of 76 years. She was born March 5, 1938 in Blackwell, Arkansas, to the late Herman Garrett, Sr. and Vivian Everlean Robinson Garrett Webb. At an early age, Claudia accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and united with the Diggs Chapel AME Zion Church in Blackwell. Later, she became a member of Light of the World Church of God in Christ in Morrilton, where she faithfully served the Lord for many years. Claudia loved to sing; she sung for many years with serveral musical group. She was very involved in several ministries at her church and throughout the Morrilton area. She met and married W.T. Everette, Sr. in 1954. To this union, five children were born. W.T. Jr., David, Claude, Linda and Howard. Claudia provided excellent opportunities for her children to be successful. Through her prayers, love, hard work and sacrifice, she taught her children good Christian values and a firm belief in God. As the eldest of nine children, she provided guidance and love to her younger siblings. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Evelyn Garrett Ross, her brothers Herman Garrett, Jr. and Charles Garrett, Sr. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Everette Williams (Ralph) of Morrilton, her sons, W. T. Everette, Jr. (Anna) of New Orleans, Louisiana, David L. Everette, Sr. (Sandra) of Morrilton, Claude B. Everette (Lisa) of Morrilton, Daniel Howard Everette (Ella Rie) of Olathe, Kansas. She is also survived by her sisters Margrette Garrett Hickman of Atlanta,Georgia, Clara Garrett Lofton of North Little Rock, Martha Garrett McKindra of Hot Springs Village, Alzer Lee Cunningham of Manhattan, Kansas, Margaret Harrison of Los Angeles, California; and byher brothers, Robert Garrett, Sr. and Jerry Garrett both of Morrilton. Additionally, she is survived byher sisters-in-law Colleen Garrett of Conway, Brenda Garrett of Morrilton, Mae Ester Garlington of Kansas City, Kansas and brothers-in-law Otis Ross of Wrightsville, Arkansas, Artis Lofton of North Little Rock and Alex McKindra of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral service for Mrs. Everette will be at St. Matthew No. 2 Missionary Baptist Church in Morrilton, Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. by Elder Gerome Bunting. The body will lie in state at the church from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. the day of the funeral. Interment will be in Rose of Sharon Cemetery in Blackwell. Family visitation will be at Light of the World Church of God in Christ, 601 Wall Street in Morrilton, Friday, April 25, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
