Sister Corrine Payne was born August 23, 1924 to the late Carter Rosbia and Octavia Kemp Rosbia. On the morning of August 6, 2010, the angel of silence came into her room and, with chilly fingers, sealed the lips of Sister Corrine Payne. Her soul winged its flight from this world of sin, sorrow and pain to a place of eternal rest.She professed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined the Greater Union Hill Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful member, attending Sunday School, Bible Study, ChurchSchool and many other functions at the church until her death.She united in holy matrimony to Harry Payne October 3, 1942. To this union, eight children were born, one preceded her in death.She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Payne, three brothers, LeRoy Rosbia, Robert Earl Rosbia and Jessie Rosbia, three sisters, Catherine Stricklen, Bernice Foster and Louise Garrett and one grandson, Mike Payne.She leaves to cherish her memories, two sons, John (Frances) Payne of Morrilton, AR, Ray Charles (Charlotte) Payne of Menifee, AR, one adopted son Terry (Doris) Payne of Morrilton, AR, five daughters, Helen Ruth (Willis) Hampton, Lorean (Floyd) Jackson and Helen Louise Payne all of Morrilton, AR, Dorothy (Ronald) Carter of Conway, AR and Mildred (Tommy) Walker of Little Rock, AR, two sisters, Louisa McDowell and Melinda Lafayette of Morrilton, AR, two brothers, Herman (Joyce) Rosbia of Pasadena, CA and Willie (Bervine) Rosbia of Morrilton, AR, ten grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.Funeral services for Mrs. Payne are Wednesday, August 11, at 11:00 a.m. at Greater Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Morrilton by Rev. David Byers. Burial will be at Owens Cemetery in Plumerville, AR.The body will lie in state Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
