Fervet Langston Surratt was born June 15, 1943 in Plumerville, Arkansas to Bedellar Davis Surratt and Lonnie A. Surratt. His parents, two brothers, L. A. and Henry Clay, one sister, Marion Moore and one son, Fred preceded him in death.Fervet received his earlychildhoodeducation by attending Plumerville Elementary and later on he went to Conway County Training School in Menifee, AR.After school, he moved to Denver, Colorado and worked at Silver Engineering.Hemarried Alberta Jackson and to this union, four children were born.He left Denver and moved to Plumerville, AR where he met and later married CoraGarlington on June 17, 1995. Eightchildren were added to this family.Fervet was employed and retired from Boyd Sanders Iron Workers.Fervet was a member of Lane CME Church in Plumerville, AR .Later, he joined Trinity CME Church in Morrilton, AR.He enjoyed fishing, hunting and hanging with his friends at the ""Ratt Den."" He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Cora Surratt of Morrilton, Arkansas, three sons; Mark Surratt (Julie)of Centennial, CO, Eric Surratt (Mitoko)of Aurora, CO and Fervet Surratt, Jr. of Phoenix, Arizona, two brothers, Norris (Willie Mae) Surratt and Bobby Surratt of Long Beach, California, two sisters, Hygia Bell Hervey of Plumerville, Arkansas and Clemmie Faye (Joseph) Airhart of Chicago, IL, eight step-children; GeneCanady (Anita), Linda Calvin, Edith Canady, SharonWright (Benny), Van Garlington (Nan), Janet Brown (Stan) all of Morrilton, AR, Deirdra Bell and Angela Riggins (Chris) of Conwa;y, AR,17 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a special friend and neighbor Terry Klag. Funeral service for Mr. Surratt will be Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 2:30 P.M. at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Plumerville, Arkansas by Rev. Derrick Wilbert. Burial will be in Edmondson Cemetery in Plumerville.
