Obituary

Mr. Floyd Jackson 80, of Morrilton, Arkansas transitioned on Friday, July 7, 2023, at Arkansas Children's Hospital, Little Rock, Arkansas. Floyd Jackson was born on October 14, 1942, in Morrilton, Arkansas, to the late George Jackson and Vanella Stricklen. At an early age Floyd professed his life to Christ and joined Greater Union Hill Baptist Church, Morrilton, Arkansas under the leadership of Pastor James Miller. On July 7, 1982, Floyd was ordained as a Deacon under the leadership of Pastor C. J. Lindsey. Deacon Jackson served at Greater Union Hill Baptist Church as Chairman of Finance Committee and President of the Choir for several years. Deacon Jackson remained a faithful member until his health failed. Floyd was a 1963 graduate of L.W. Sullivan High School in Morrilton, Arkansas. He was employed by Sears & Robuck for a brief period. Floyd was most proud of his position at AP&L(Entergy) as a Lineman in Morrilton, Arkansas where he retired after 32 years. Floyd was a kind-hearted person. He was a loving husband to his late wife Lorean, the "BEST FATHER" to his sons, he cherished every minute he had with his grandchildren. His great grands were his joy, and he loved them dearly. Floyd enjoyed working with his hands, he was gifted in electrical wiring. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, rabbit hunting and traveling with his entire family. On October 19, 1963, Floyd married the love of his life Lorean Payne to which two sons were born. Floyd was preceded in glory by his wife of 59 years, Lorean Jackson; parents, George Jackson and Vanella Stricklen; sisters, Minnie Rosbia, Dorothy Willingham and Ruby Jackson. Floyd leaves to cherish his memories, two sons; Lloyd Jackson of Morrilton, Arkansas and Fred(Tyresha) Jackson of Conway, Arkansas, two brothers; James Jackson of Little Rock, Arkansas and Samuel (Debbie) Stricklen of Conway, Arkansas, two sisters; Georgia Lee Jackson of Little Rock, Arkansas and Peggy (Scott) Kalevik of Aurora, Colorado, four grandchildren; Thomas Lloyd(Kristen) Jackson of Ft. Moore, Georgia; Noelle Jackson of Dallas, Texas, Christopher(Daphne) Jackson of Conway, Arkansas, and Reggie Toney of Plumerville, Arkansas, eight great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
