Gary O'Neal Lasker was born to Vernon and Arlene Lasker on November 16, 1972 in Conway, Arkansas. He departed this life on October 16, 2013. He professed a hope in Christ and was baptized at an early age at Mt. Gale Missionary Baptist Church in Conway, AR where he remained a faithful member until the time of his death. Gary (aka G-Bob), graduated from Conway Senior High School in 1991. After high school graduation, Gary went to the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service in Dallas, Texas and earned an Associate's Degree in Funeral Service on February 11, 1994. He spent some time working in Memphis, TN in the funeral service field, but soon returned to his hometown of Conway where he worked as a freelance embalmer and a funeral director at Wilson & Jarrett Funeral Home, Inc. in Morrilton, AR. On January 17, 1997, Gary married his best friend and sweetheart Cala, and they shared 16 years together. He remained close to his classmates throughout the years, and he also continued to be a loyal Wampus Cat fanatic. Gary truly bled Blue and White. ""Coach"" Gary Lasker was devoted to Wampus Cat football for over 15 years, donating his time and money to show his support and love for the team. He also volunteered his time at the Wampus Cat summer football camps each year. Wampus Cat football was on of the greatest joys in Gary's life, and one could see him every Friday night on the sidelines with the coaching staff, uniformed and ready for Wampus Cat action. Gary Lasker was also CEO of Triple L. Construction, servicing Central Arkansas for over 10 years. He was well-respected within the community and is touted as a devoted husband, father, son, brother uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Annie Jones Dooley and Bishop Holcey Dooley, Sylvanus Lasker, Sr. and Maeopal Cornett Lasker and his niece Leasia Wonyen. He leaves to cherish his memories: his best friend, sweetheart, and devoted wife, Cala Lovelace Lasker; his son Micah Spivey; his parents Vernon and Arlene Lasker; two brothers, Greg (Rosa) Lasker, Deshawn (Dawn) Rose; one sister, Lisa (Victor) Pierce; nieces and nephews (Brittany, Brian, Kristina and Luis. He also leaves numerous relatives and friends. Funeral service for Mr. Lasker will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, October 21, 2013 at Mt. Gale Missionary Baptist Church #8 Brannon Drive in Conway, Arkansas by Rev. Lloyd Lasker, Jr. Interment will be in Ray Cemetery in Conway. Viewing will only be available from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the church the day of the funeral. Family visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Mt. Gale.
