George Matthew Byers, Sr. of Tacoma, Washington, formerly of Cleveland, Arkansas passed away December 31, 2020.

He was retired from the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife, Rose Byers, of Tacoma, Washington, his son, George Matthew (Patricia) Byers, Jr., of North Brunswick, New Jersey, daughters Cassandra Parnell and Angela (Eugene) Boyd, of Kansas City, Missouri, Tyresha Byers of Conway, Arkansas, five stepdaughters, Debbie (Ken) Clark, Vannessa Roberson, Tandrea (Terry) Brewer, and Sonya Roberson, 24 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, one brother, Everette (Nancy) Byers of Morrilton, Arkansas, one sister Janice Brown, of Little Rock, Arkansas, one aunt, Betty Byers of Kansas City, Missouri, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Graveside service is 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Moores Chapel Cemetery in Cleveland, Arkansas by Rev. Willie Johnson.

Walk through viewing will be Saturday, January 16, from 11:00 A. M. to 1:00 P.M. at Wilson & Jarrett Funeral Home.

The family respectfully requests that masks be worn, social distancing be maintained, and close contact be kept to a minimum at the funeral home and the cemetery.
