Obituary

Gladys Mae (Fields-Ealy) Toney departed this life on Friday Oct. 10, 2014 at Baptist Medical center in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was born February 14, 1946 in Damascus Arkansas to the late Lonnie and Willie Ann (Rhodes) Fields. She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined Zion Grove M.B. Church and later united with Solomon Grove M.B. Church, both in Twin Groves Arkansas. She married Benny Lee Ealy and to this union 1 child was born Nancy (Ealy ) Dixon. In 2000 she married James Toney of Springfield Arkansas. Gladys served as president of the Usher Board for many years at Solomon Grove. She loved her church and was very dedicated to her duties in the church until her health failed her.She had a kind and giving heart. Gladys was employed at Polyvend Mfg. for many years she also worked at Baldwin Piano Co. and later retired from Virco Mfg. Her parents Lonnie and Willie Ann Fields, one brother James Fields, and two sisters, Jeraline Talley and Alpha Mae Anderson preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memories her husband James Toney of Springfield, Arkansas, daughter, Nancy (Ronnie) Dixon, of Twin Groves, Arkansas, stepdaughters; Mary Ann, Georgia, and Robin all of Conway, Arkansas, stepsons; James Jr. of Morrilton Arkansas and Randy of Conway, Arkansas, four brothers; Clifton and Billy Joe Fields both of Flint Michigan, Lonnie Jr. and Arthur T. Fields both of Sylmar California, five sisters; Ova Lee Curry and Dorothy Mae Halcombe both of Cleveland Ohio, Vernetta Holbrook of Greenbrier, Arkansas, Queenetta Owens and Bonita Lindsey both of Twin Groves, Arkansas and 24 stepgrandchildren. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends whom will miss her dearly. Funeral service for Mrs. Toney will be Saturday, October 18, 2014, 1:00 P.M. at Solomon Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Twin Groves, Arkansas by Rev. Willie L. Johnson. Interment will be in Solomon Grove Cemetery. Family visitation will be Friday, October 17, 2014 from 6:00 P.M to 7:00 P.M at Solomon Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
