In the spring of 1918, Timothy and Linnie Davis Everette looked forward to a new addition to the family. On May 27th the anticipation was over when a beautiful baby girl arrived, they agreed to name her Hattie. Her sister Susell and brothers Homer, Joe, Clarence and David adored her. Her parents taught them daily about God. She accepted Christ in her life and was baptized early in her youth. She was a Godly woman and continued her Chrisitan work until her illness. She loved the Mission Department, served as an usher and taught the Beginners Sunday School class until age retired her. That was her true calling. At a very young age she met the love of her life, Mr. Thomas Rice. On March 14,1938 they were united in Holy Matrimony (He preceded her in death). They became wonderful parents to Thomas Jr., Mae Bertha, Leola, Emma and Jimmy Charles. Their lives would never be the same. They led by example ""As for me and My House we will serve the Lord."" Preceding her in death were her parents Timothy & Linnie Everette, her husband Deacon Thomas Rice, Sr. and her siblings. Hearts left behind to cherish her love, wisdom, and memories are those who call her Mama: Thomas Rice Jr. of Chicago, IL; Mae Rice of Plumerville, AR; Leola Rice Adams (Wilbert) of Miami, FL; Emma Rice of Plumerville, AR; and Jimmy Charles Rice (Lenora) of Little Rock, AR; and two sisters-in-law Mrs. Carolyn Everette, Plumerville, AR and Lottie Strickland, Kansas City, MO. There are 13 who call her grandma, 20 who call her great-grandma, and 1 great-great grandchild. There are many who call her Aunt Hattie, Cousin Hattie, and the community who fondly say Mrs. Hattie Rice.
