Obituary

Mr. Henry Ester, 97 of Stuttgart, Arkansas transitioned on Saturday, August 20, 2022. Henry was born July 28, 1925, in Tupelo, Mississippi, to the late Elbert Ester and Maggie Jones Ester-Thomas. He gave his life to Christ at an early age and was a deacon at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church for many years. On December 23, 1947, he was united in holy Matrimony to Freddie Lee Ester. To this union, eleven children were born. Mr. Ester not only fed his family, but also many other families, by being an avid gardener, which was his main hobby. He raised many animals including; cows, hogs, chickens, and turkeys. Mr. Ester along with his sons and daughters worked tirelessly to sustain his family and other communities with food, so that the only need go to town was for sugar, salt and flour. He also worked at Potlatch and Riceland Foods of Stuttgart, Arkansas for many years. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Freddie Lee Ester; four children; Richard Ester, Oliver Ester, Frank Ester, and Doris Washington; five sisters, Rosetta Robinson, Ozema Smith, Gennie V. Ester, Ruth Williams, Willie Mae Calvin and Lila Ester; two brothers, Roy Ester and David Ester. Those left to cherish his memory four sons; Floyd (Bernita) Ester of Conway, Arkansas, Johnny Lee (Cherice) Ester of Greenbrier, Arkansas, Willie (Lekisha) Ester of Stuttgart, Arkansas and Wayne (Sarah) Ester of Forrest City, Arkansas; three daughters, Stella (Wilson) Cheney-Timmons of Stuttgart, Arkansas, Lorrie Ester of Jacksonville, Florida and Gennie Ester of Killeen, Texas; 45 grandchildren, 88 great-grandchildren, 38 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
