Mr. Henry Lee Rainey, 86of Hattieville, Arkansas transitioned on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Chi St. Vincent - Morrilton.Henry Lee Rainey was born in Hattieville, Arkansas on April 7, 1935 to LeRoy and Lueaser Canady Rainey. Henry was educated in the Center School system in Cleveland, Arkansas and he attended Menifee High School.Henry was an avid sports player and really excelled at playing baseball.
Henry accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was a member New Prospect Baptist Church in Cleveland, Arkansas. He then met Gracie and they moved to Kansas City, Missouri and joined Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church for over 30 years. In 1954, he married Gracie Lee Canady. Henry worked for Ford Motor Company for 30 years and retired in 1987. Henry and Gracie moved back to Cleveland, Arkansas in 1991.Henry and Gracie joined Moores Chapel upon their arrival to the Center School Community where Henry felt at home and immediately joined the Male Choir. He faithfully served and held many positions at Moores Chapel.
Henry thoroughly enjoyed being with family, his grandkids, gardening and traveling. He enjoyed watching baseball and basketball, fishing, hunting and working on his 1968 Mustang.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother C. Walter Rainey; sister Rosie Rainey; wife Gracie Lee Rainey and son Gilbert Ray Rainey.
Henry leaves to cherish his memory, two sons Dale (Noreen) Rainey of Chantilly, Virginia;Cedric (Betty) Rainey of Lees Summit, Missouri;daughter-in-law Jackie Rainey of Kansas City, Missouri; five grandchildren Mary, Tanika Rainey, Trevis and Travis Rainey and Kristen (Rainey) Moses; brother Sammie Lee Rainey and one sister Ora Dee (Atlas) Payne, three sister in-laws Rosie Holloway, Viola Garlington and Barbara Byers, and one brother-in-law Jonas Byers and a host of great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and several close friends.
Revelation 21:4-And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
