Mr. James Earl Gilliam 74, of Apple Valley, California formerly of Morrilton, Arkansas transitioned on December 10, 2022. James was born February 2, 1948 to the late Homer Gilliam Sr. and Carolyn Jefferson. James attended Plumerville Elementary School, C.C.D for School 9-11 grade. He graduated from Osawatomie High School in Oswatomie, Kansas. He attended Emporia State University. James was a member of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late J. A. Jenning. He was a businessman, family man, and he loved to talk. James moved to California in 1970, where he attended Surrey College, Laverne College, Neosho County Community Jr. College. He has a certificate in youth mental health, technician type I, and all lines adjuster prelicensing education. James was a Real Estate Property Inspector. He owned his own business J & G Supply and Maintenance. He is preceded in death by his parents; father, David Everette; brothers, David Christopher Everette, Dwight Everette. He leaves to cherish his precious memory brother, Homer Gilliam, Jr. of Moreno, CA; three sisters, Mary Emma Jean Barnes of Kansas, Missouri, Gurtha Rene Ingram of Kansas City, Kansas and Latonia (Kellar) McCuien of Plumerville, AR; sister-in-law, Flora Everette of Plumerville, AR; aunt, Ella Bell Criswell of Plumerville, AR, a special nephew, Anthony Brown of Apple Valley, CA and a host of family and friends.
