Mr. Jimmy C. Rice, 75 of Little Rock, Arkansas transitioned on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at CHI St. Vincent Little Rock. Jimmy "Sonny" was born July 17, 1947, to the late Thomas and Hattie Rice in Plumerville, Arkansas. Jimmy professed his love of Jesus Christ at an early age and joined Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Plumerville, where he sang in the choir and was an active member as a teen. He recommitted his faith and rejoined Mount Carmel January 5, 2020. Jimmy graduated from Menifee High School in 1966. He moved to Denver, Colorado where we worked at Coors beer until he returned to Arkansas. He opened his own business in Morrilton called Jimmy's Tavern. He also worked as courier for several years until he began working as a security officer for DHS, where he worked until his death. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mae Bertha Rice and brother Thomas Rice, Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife Ruby Rice, 8 children: Charles (Cynthia) Rice, Danny (Tonya) Rice, Trina Rice-Brown, Rodney Rice, Chris (LaFondra) Johnson, Ayanna Woods, Deon and ShaRhonda (Eric) Hoard, 2 sisters; Emma Rice and Leola Adams, 22 grandchildren, and 24 great-children and a host of loving family and friends.
