Johnny JR Lee Reed 64 of Conway, Arkansas passed away on July 31, 2021, in Little Rock, Arkansas at the John McClellan Memorial Veteran Hospital.
Johnny Lee Reed was the fifth child born to Lessie Lee Reed in Brinkley, Arkansas. JR loved to be with family and friends spreading his love, laugher and joy for life. If you know him, you knew he was always dressed to impress. JR was always ready for any mission. Whether it was to lend a helping hand, a listen ear over a game of dominos, a ride and or an encouraging word he was a friend to all. We all knew with J.R. Aint Nothing Changed.
JR attended Brinkley Public Schools. Following high school he decided to enlist in the U.S. Army. After serving 2 1/2 years he returned to his hometown of Brinkley, Arkansas before he decided to move to Detroit, Michigan where he worked for the U.S. Postal Service and married Vivian Henderson in 1978. From that union he fathered 2 daughters LaTarsha and Sherre Henderson and 2 sons Johnny II and Nadje Reed. Johnny and Vivian divorced in 2002 after 25 years of marriage. JR later moved to Conway, Arkansas where he became a servant for the Lord at Victory Outreach Ministry led by Deverick Green. JR went on to have 3 more children: JVonte Reed (Liza Webster) Qudus and Seven Reed (Jackie Bennie).
JR was preceded in death by his first born daughter: LaTarsha Henderson; sister: Jeanette Reed; brother: Clarence Reed.
"JR" leaves to cherish his legacy Children: Sherre (Joel) Vance of Little Rock, Arkansas, Johnny II, Nadje, JVonte (Liza Webster), Qudus and Seven (Jackie Bennie) all of Conway, Arkansas; Mother; Lessie Lee Reed of Conway, Arkansas; Sisters: Judy and Jackie Reed and Doris Branch all of Conway, Arkansas, Glenda Reed of Chicago, IL and Mae Helen of St. Louis, MO; Brothers: Eugene Branch and Napoleon Reed of Conway, Arkansas and Alfred Harris of Colorado; Grandchildren: Kalin, Justin, Janiyah, Xavier, Alex, Alexis, Destiney, Desmond and Nehemiah ; Great Grandchildren: Karter, Kali, Aiden, Alonte, Aselyn, Jaidyn and Malea.
