Obituary

Malinda Lafayette, age 95, of Morrilton passed away Saturday, July 2, 2016. Born April 11, 1921, she was the daughter of Carter Rosbia and Octavia Kemp Rosbia. She professed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined the Greater Union Hill Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful member, attending church regularly until her death. She loved fishing, gospel music and spending time with her family. She united in holy matrimony to Lark Lafayette.To this union, four children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lark Lafayette, five brothers, Leroy Rosbia, Robert Earl Rosbia, Jessie Rosbia,Herman Rosbia and Willard (June) Rosbia, five sisters, Catherine Stricklen, Bernice Foster, Louise Garrett, Corrine Payne and Louisa Strickland and one son, James Lee Lafayette. She leaves to cherish her memories, three daughters, Ruby Lee Lafayette and Linda Lafayette of Morrilton, Arkansas and Octavia Lafayette of Los Angeles, California, one grandson Joseph T. Lafayette and one granddaughter Deanna D. Latin (Kevin) who she raised as her children, two great-grandsons and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral service for Mrs. Lafayette will be Saturday, July 9 ,2016, 11:00 A.M. at Greater Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Morrilton, Arkansas by Rev. Ronald G. Chargois. The body will lie in state from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. the day of the funeral at the church. Interment will be in Owens Cemetery in Plumerville, Arkansas by Wilson & Jarrett Funeral Home of Morrilton. Public viewing will be Friday, July 8, 2016, from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Wilson & Jarrett Funeral Home.
