Mattie Mae Winston McDaniel was born in Menifee, Arkansas on February 4, 1932 to the late Dewitt Talmadge Winston and Rosetta Edwards Winston. She attended Conway County Training School in Menifee, Arkansas and graduated from L. W. Sullivan High School in Morrilton, Arkansas. She was united in holy matrimony to James Alfred McDaniel n June 21, 1948 and to this union nine children were born. She is preceded in death byher husband, James A. McDaniel,one child, Royce McDaniel and one brother Warren Winston. She joined St. Paul AME Church and remainded a member until her passing on Tuesday, September 20, 2011. She leaves to mourn her passing eight children: Gwendolyn McDaniel, Charlotte Kindle (Minus) both of Morrilton, AR, James McDaniel (Mavis) of Midland, MI, Tiryn McDaniel (Marilyn) of Downey, CA, Timothy McDaniel (Veronica) of Little Rock, AR, Frederick McDaniel of Lafayette, IN, Steven McDaniel of Russellville, AR and Kimberly McDaniel of Cedar Hill, TX, two brothers; DeWitt T. Winston (Kelsey) of Lee Summit, MO and Felix G. Winston of San Gabriel, CA, one sister-in-law Ernestine Winston of Los Angeles, CA, fifteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Funeral service for Mrs. McDaniel will be Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul AME Church in Morrilton by Licentiate Minister Torre Kindle. Burial will be in the National Cemetery in Little Rock, AR. Family visitation will be Monday, September 26, 2011 from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
