Mrs. Nancy A. Canady Byers was born June 14, 1939, to Joshua Andrew Canady and Lizzie Thompson Canady in Hickory Hill, Arkansas. She attended the Conway County Training School and graduated in 1959. She professed her hope in Christ at an early age and was a member of St. Mark Baptist Church.
In 1961 she met & married her life partner, Mr. Everette Byers. The newly wed Mrs. Byers became a member at Moore’s Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church in Cleveland, Arkansas. She was very active in her church and throughout the Arkansas Conference. Nancy served as President of the Little Rock/Hot Springs District Missionary Society for 20 years and Chairperson of the Life Members Council for 10 years. At her local church she served as President of the Missionary Society, Leader of Leaders, member of the Intercessory Prayer ministry, Sunday School teacher, and Women of Zion ministry. Nancy also served as a consecrated Deaconess who prepared the Lord’s Table for more than 50 years. She was a mother of the church and rooted deeply in her faith.
Nancy worked for Tyson Foods for more than 30 years before retiring. After retirement, she did what she loved to do the most. She enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing, gardening, quilting, and checking on the sick and shut-in. Nancy would later re-enter the workforce and retired a second time from Conagra Foods. On Monday, June 15, 2026, Nancy was ca led home to rest.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers: E.J. Cobin, Harvey Cobin, Wiliam Canady, and Lee Andrew Canady; and beloved daughter, Kasandra Delph.
Nancy leaves to cherish her memory husband; Everette Byers; stepson, David (Karen) Byers; grandson, Tre Delph; sisters, Betty Byers of Kansas City, MO; Dorothy Day of Kansas City, MO; Wanda Canady of Morrilton, AR; brother Marcus Canady of Morrilton, AR; sister in laws, Bobbie Cobin, Mildred Canady and LaVon Canady. Three special sisters/friends Angela Ross, Brenda Hobbs, Sevenier Willis and a host of other family members and friends. She was truly loved by many and will be deeply missed.
