Nevada Strickland Rosbia was born July 28, 1935 in Cleveland, Arkansas to the union of Elsie McFall and J. C. Strickland. She departed this life August 4, 2011 at St. Joseph Medical Center, Hot Springs, Arkansas. She accepted Christ at an early age and joined St. James A.M.E. Church in Paola, Kansas. She was united in marriage to Robert Rosbia. To this union, three children (daughters) were born. Nevada worked as an assembler for King Radio for a number of years. In 1997 Nevada and her husband retired an moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas. After moving to Hot Springs, they united with Visitors Chapel A.M.E. Church where they both became very active members. Nevada joined the choir where she uplifted the name of Jesus whenever she sang with her quiet demeanor. Nevada was a loving and spiritual person. Nevada was preceded in death by her parents, herhusband, five sisters, Julia, Latha, Leola, Dorothy,Nanny and two brothers, Larry and Sam. Nevada was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She leaves to cherish her memories, three daughers, Linda L. Ersery of Kansas City, MO, Nevada Faye Porter of Hot Springs, AR and Rose E. Johnson of (Lester) of Palestine, TX, two sisters, Opal Blakely of Round Rock, Texas and Nanny Nickerson of Las Vegas, NV, seven grandchildren, Dionne V. Ersery, Galen Lindsey, Jr, Clifton S. Porter, Datrick A. Willliams, Anthony Josh Williams, III, Japin M. Scales and Lotai T. Favors, twelve great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral service for Mrs. Rosbia was Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Morrilton, AR by Rev. Angela Brewster of Hot Springs, AR. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Morrilton, AR. .
