Ophelia Walls was born to James L. Toney and Alice R. Toney in Springfield, Arkansas. She was raised in the Union Chapel community among relatives and friends. She was a member of The Greater Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church where she accepted Christ at an early age as her Savior. She later moved to St. Louis, Missouri where she married the late Johnnie C. Walls and raised three children. She worked many years as a nurse's aide until she took an early retirement to become a devoted homemaker. Ophelia loved to care for others in need and the less fortunate. She was preceded in death by four siblings Mae W. Warren, Lorene, Elliot, Albert Toney and Grover Toney. She leaves to cherish her memory; two sons, Henry L. Walls of Conway, Arkansas, Calvin E. Walls of St. Louis, Missouri and one daughter Sheila P. Marion of St. Louis, Missouri, three brothers Althima Toney and Charles Toney of Detroit, Michigan and James Toney of Union Chapel, four sisters, Nola Young and Scnellia Haines of St. Louis, Missouri, Rose Simpson of Detroit, Michigan and Blomer Jones of Plumerville, Arkansas, eleven grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Walls will be Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 1:30 P.M. at The Greater Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be at Mt. Olive Cemetery in Plumerville, Arkansas by Wilson & Jarrett Funeral Home of Morrilton.
