Obituary

Mrs. Rita Abrams 67, of Plumerville, Arkansas transitioned on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at CHI St. Vincent Little Rock. Rita Senece Chambers Abrams was born July 2, 1957 in Cleveland, Arkansas to the union of L.B. and Trusilar Chambers. She was a graduate of Wonderview High School in Hattieville, Arkansas. At an early age, Rita confessed her Christian faith and united with Moore's Chapel AME Zion Church in Cleveland, Arkansas. She was united in holy matrimony with Kenneth Abrams on November 17, 1979. To this union three children were born. After marriage, she joined Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Plumerville, Arkansas. Rita was a very active member as she served on numerous committees including Assistant President of the Women's Mission, Chair of the Benevolent Fund and the Chair of her beloved kitchen committee. She was also a member of the Center Community Foundation where she served on the Membership and Culinary Committees. She worked at Arrow Automotive for twenty plus years. She is preceded in death by five sisters; Janette Chambers-Hervey, Beatrice Chambers, Ida Ross, Gwen McDaniel and Juanita Chambers- Robertson, two brothers; Tyrone Chambers and Homer Ross. Rita is survived by her husband, Kenneth Abrams; son, Byron (Paries) Chambers, two daughters; Ranetta (Alfonza) Abrams and Trixie Abrams; one bonus daughter, Amy Thomas; grandchildren; BreAsia Chambers, DeAveon Abrams, Irulan Abrams, Ja'Kobe Chambers and Keenen Thomas; great-granddaughter, Charlee Reece; seven sisters; Ruth McKey, Norma (Byron) Robertson, Joyce (Marcellus)Cunningham, Sharon (Kenneth) Perry, Bonnie (Roman) Reed, Henrietta Holloway, Yvonne Dorris; two brothers; Hervey (Kathy) Chambers and Darrell (Marcia) Chambers; a very special friend Emma Rice and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
