Rosa Lee (Toney) Trezvant was called home peacefully to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. Rosa was born on May 6, 1932 to the union of the late Russell and Lela Toney. Rosa was raised in a loving Christian home. She had five siblings who preceded her in death: William Toney, Russell Toney Jr., Lawrence Edward Toney, Lillie Bell Brewer and Thomas Calvin Toney Sr. Rosa has ten surviving siblingswho are: Ladell Toney Sr. (Ethel) of Indianapolis, IN, Ben L. Toney (Joann) of Cleveland, OH, Edith Logan (Floyd) of Tulsa, OK, Willie Baker (Luther) of Indianapolis, IN, John Toney (Barbara) of Cleveland, OH, Sylvia Stewart (Robert-deceased) of Indianapolis, IN, Willlie Mae Surratt (Norris) of Morrilton, AR, Jean Hervey (Walter) of Plumerville, AR, Brenda Hayden (Robert) of Cleveland, OH and Emeril Toney of Indianapolis, IN. Rosa came to know Jesus Christ at an early age. She joined the fellowship of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Morrilton, AR where she fell in love and married the late Willie Trezvant, August 27, 1949. Through their union they were blessed with 13 children, three children preceded her in death:Stella Louise, Irene and Freddie Sr.Precious memories are left with the following surviving children: Willie Doris Trezvant of Joliet, IL, James Eddie Trezvant of Houston, TX, Phyllis Fields (Reginald) of Cleveland, OH, Geneva Taylor (Bob) of Houston, TX, Michael Trezvant (Linda) of Houston, TX, Doylene Trezvant, Terry Trezvant (Gertie) and Nancy Trezvant all of Morrilton, AR, Raymond Trezvant (Jenoa) of Wichita, KS and Danny Trezvant (Samantha) of Southaven, MS. She is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Rosa was able to care for and support her family while working at Morrilton Manor Nursing Home for 15 years until she retired. She loved God with all her heart, soul and mind. She was very active in the church and community. She sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, was a mother of the church, active with the mission ministry and was an inspiration to the young women of the church. She touched the lives of any and everyone she came in contact with, encouraging her family and friends to keep God first in their lives. She would always say, ""If you need help with anything, you can call on JESUS and He will come and see about you."" Rosa received her GED diploma in 1985 and was very excited for her accomplishment. Her hobbies were fishing with her children, gardening, making quilts by hand and she loved fundraising for the March of Dimes. She was an active member of the local NAACP chapter where she won the 201 President's Award for outstanding service and her commitment to God, family and the community. She was also an inspiration to the doctors, nurses, and patients at the Senior Day Care Services at St. Vincent Hospital, Morrilton, Arkansas. Visitation will be from 6;00 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. Friday, June 1, at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church 144 Mt. Zion Loop in Morrilton. Funeral service for Mrs. Trezvant will be Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Plumerville, AR by Rev. Brandon Williams. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Morrilton.
