Roy Stephen Byers was born inHattieville, Arkansas to the late Andrew Byers Sr. and Mazell Byers on March 21, 1963. He was preceded in death by one sister (Mildred Mae Canady) and one sister-in-law (Helen Byers). He was united in Holy Matrimony to LatonyaPayneon November 10, 1987. To this union, one daughter was born, Kena Byers. He was a member of New Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church in Cleveland, AR. He was a man of many trades and skills. He was apainter, mechanic, carpenter, roofer and tree trimmer. He leaves to cherish and celebrate his homegoing and precious memories; his wife, Latonya (Payne) Byers of Springfield, Arkansas, one daughter; Kena Byers of Springfield, AR, two grandchildren; Kendell Payne and Kenisha Payne of Morrilton, AR, three sisters; Mary (Louis) Williams, of Hensley, AR, Brenda (Willie) Brown of Memphis, TN and Karen (David) Byers of Conway, AR,five brothers; Andrew Byers Jr and Jerry Byers both of Cleveland, AR, Trey Byers of Fayetteville, AR, Karras Byers andRyan Byers of Conway,AR,two aunts; LucilleCrawford of Morrilton, AR and Anola Byers of Pine Bluff, AR, one uncle; C.W. Crawford of Morrilton, AR, a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Byers will be Saturday, August 7, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church inCleveland, AR by Rev. Robert Byers. Burial will be at Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Cleveland, AR.
