Ruthie Mae (Byers) Moore, 74, was born , May 16, 1936, to the late Sam and Ella (Sinclair) Byers in Cleveland, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by both parents, three sisters, three brothers, three daughters, Lachelle Moore, Donna Fletcher and Helen Byers, three grandchildren, Darwin Jones, Jeremy Byers and Ravin Garlington. Ruthie confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined the Moore's Chapel A.M. E. Zion Church in Cleveland, AR. She later joined the New Prospect Baptist Church in Cleveland, Arkansas where she served as a faithful member until her health failed. She was the president of the women's mission, youth director and choir member. Ruthie was employed at ARVAC Child Development Center for 26 years. She departed this life on Saturday July 17, 2010 in the presence of her own home. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 57 years, James E. Moore of the home, six daughters, Nan (Van) Garlington of Cleveland, AR, Tanya (Glen Dale) Duncan, Karen (Wayne) Stricklen, Verna (Ronald) Foster, Jenniffer (Henry) Foster, Loretta Moore all of Morrilton, AR, one son, Wilbur (Lynn) Moore of Morrilton, AR, three sisters, Y. Q. Garlington of Kansas City, KS, Ruby Thomas of Atlanta, GA and Rosie Bell (Charles) McDaniel of Morrilton, AR, seventeen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and several adopted children who called her ""Madea"". Funeral service for Mrs. Moore will be Saturday July 24, 2010 at 2:30 P.M. at New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church in Cleveland, Arkansas by Rev. Patrick Greene, Sr.. The body will lie in state at the church from 1:30 P.M. to 2:30 P.M. the day of the funeral. Burial will be at NewMt. Zion Cemetery in Hattieville, AR.
