Sis Stella Payne Taylor the daughter of the late William ""Fox"" Payne and Mary Payne was born September 13, 1915 in Plumerville, AR. She was the last surviving child born to this union. Sis. Taylor made preparation for her homegoing at an early age, accepting Christ at the Shady Grove Baptist Church, where she remained a faithful servant until her health failed. She was one of the oldest members of Shady Grove, moving with the church from the bottoms to its present location. Sis. Taylor served on the Mother Board, and was a member of the Mission Society. Sis. Taylor was united in holy matriomy to Bro. Leroy Taylor. To this union, ten children were born. Her husband, Leroy Taylor and five children, LaFaye, James, Marl, Earl and Henry preceded her in death. She was blessed with longevity, which allowed her to witness the joy and love of numerous 5th genrations. Late Tuesday evening, March 1, 2011 the kind, quiet and gentle spirit of Sis. Stella Taylor crossed the frontier that divides time and eternity, and glory shined around her. Sis. Taylor leaves to cherish many loving memories: two sons, Bro. Roy Taylor of Plumerville, AR and Bro. Bobby C. Taylor (Geneva) of Houston, TX, three daughters: Sis. Willie B. Hervey, Sis. Ruby Hull (Min. Jonathan) of Plumerville, AR and Sis. Mae Ruth Taylor of Kansas City, KS, thirty-four grandchildren, fifty-five great-grandchildren, forty-seven great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly. Funeral service for Mrs. Taylor will be Friday, March 11, 2011 at 1;00 P.M. at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Plumerville by Rev. Byron Jackson, Sr. Burial will be at Owens Cemetery in Plumerville.
