Obituary

Wilson Swinton departed this life on November 22, 2012 at St. Vincent Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born in Blackwell, Arkansas on June 3, 1932. He attended school until the 12th grade then went to work in Dardanelle, Arkansas where he worked as a chicken processor and later worked at IC Corporation until he retired. His parents were Jessie Swinton and Inez Roseburrow Swinton. They preceded him in death along with his daughter, Velma Swinton, two sisters, Mae Helen Walls and Jamells Swinton. He was a member of St. Matthew #3 Missionary Baptist Church in Blackwell, Arkansas. Wilson leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 49 years, Mertice Swinton of Blackwell, one son, Howard (Christy) Swinton of Morrilton, three grandchildren; Marquis Swinton, Marcel Swinton and Markel Swinton all of Morrilton, three sisters; Mattie Joe Harris of Kansas City, Kansas, Pinellia Gunnells of Atkins, Arkansas and Mildred Morris of Morrilton, one brother, James (Janice) Swinton of Mississippi, one nephew, Alfred Swinton, Jr. of Kansas City, Kansas and many other family members and friends. Funeral service for Mr. Swinton will be Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Matthew No. 3 Missionary Baptist Church in Blackwell, Arkansas by Rev. Jerry Ross, Jr. Burial will be in Rose of Sharon Cemetery in Blackwell by Wilson & Jarrett Funeral Home of Morrilton.
