Sister Zeptha Brown Taylor, daughter of the late James Brown and Jamater White Brown began her earthly journey on May 5, 1915 in Plumerville, Arkansas. She was the fourth child of nine born to this union. She departed this life Monday, May 16, 2011. Her journey as a child took her to Shady Grove Baptist Church. She made preparation for her heavenly journey by accepting Christ as her personal Savior. Sister Taylor dedicated her life to Christian service in her church. She was the president of the ushers. For a day in His courts is better than a thousand, I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than to dwell in the tents of wickedness; (Psalm 84:10) was her motto. She was a member of the Women's Mission, a teacher of the adult women's Sunday School Class. She remained a faithful member until her health failed. Her heart and spirit always remained with her Shady Grove Church Family. She was the oldest member at Shady Grove. She was united in holy matrimony to Bro. Virgil Taylor. Although there weren't any children born to this union, God blessed them with Dennis Emziah, their nephew, who was like a son. Her husband, Deacon Virgil Taylor, her three brothers and five sisters all preceded her in death. In 2005 at the age of ninety-one, she became unable to live alone, She became a resident of Riverview Health Care Center. Being a strong woman of God, she continued to be a witness for the Lord, dressed in her mutli-colored robes, satin caps and a spiritual dip. She read her Bible and newspaper daily. She attended Bible Study and church services. She even became a ""Red Hat Lady"". She was truly blessed. Sis. Taylor leaves to cherish her memories, her devoted sister, Sis. Frances Campbell, Morrilton, AR, two special nephews, Dennis Emziah of Tulsa, Ok and Johnny Campbell of Morrilton, AR and niece Kay Nwaohuku of North Little Rock, AR , a host of other caring nephews, and nieces whom she loved dearly. She left an indelible imprint on those whose lives she touched. Funeral service for Mrs. Taylor will be Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Plumervillle, AR by Rev. Byron Jackson, Sr. The body will lie in state at the church from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. the day of the funeral. Burial will be at Owens Cemetery in Plumerville, AR.
